What to Do With Your AC If not at home
Every year around vacation time, I get asked this questions. Of course its important to save money while we are away and why should we pay to have our house cool if we are not there? This is a very common question. What I always recommend is to never turn off the air conditioner because of moisture, especially in florida.
When ever we go out of town on vacation and the house is empty we can up the temperature to a maximum of 78-80 degree. This in order that if the temperature rises, the unit can turn on for a few minutes removing the internal humidity of the house and thus prevents formation of mold and musty odors. Remember that Mold inside the house can be harmful to health. When you return from your vacation just adjust the temperature hat is comfortable for you.
